‘cell’ is easily my favourite public sculpture in Brisbane right now.
Commissioned by the Historical Abuse Network and the Micah Project, ‘cell’ is located under the GoBetween bridge.
The ribbons of polished metal slipping from their tarnished cell and climbing free up the bridge pylon create a powerful narrative.
I adore the varied materials Fenelon has used here – tarnished and polished metal, stone and, my personal favourite, a live rosemary bush.
A must see!
